The Bonduelle Group and Butler Capital Partners have finalised their negotiations for the acquisition of France Champignon Group, with headquarters in Saumur, on Feb 3rd.
Deriving from the 1997 merger of companies and ChampiJandou and Royal Champignon, France champignon was taken over in 2004 by Butler Capital Partners, who has been engaged in an industrial modernization plan. So the growing of mushrooms in caves has been abandonned and new growing houses were erected at La Tourte.
France Champignon had net sales of €212m for the previous year, has six factories, five of which are in France and Poland, and is engaged in production of mushrooms (canned, frozen, fresh, pasteurized or dried).
According to Bonduelle, the two groups have many synergies, including geographic reach and product range;
Bonduelle, headquartered in Villeneuve d'Ascq in Greater Lille North, produces all vegetables such as canned, frozen and fresh prepared.
